Shirley Kaplan is Of Counsel to the Firm and works on special projects.
Shirley’s association with Gusrae Kaplan dates back to law school, when she worked as a summer clerk at the Firm. Her practice has focused on securities litigation and corporate matters. During her long tenure at the Firm, she took a leave and founded a boutique law firm that exclusively focused on divorce, matrimonial and family law matters.
Shirley received her law degree from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (1984) and her undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College (1976). She also holds a Master of Social Work degree from Yeshiva University, Wurzweiler School of Social Work (1978). She is admitted to practice in the State of New York since 1985.
Shirley has a special interest in advocacy on behalf of women and children and has actively engaged in foster care work for many years. She has raised six children.
