GKN Obtains Dismissal of Ex-Exec’s Employment Claim Against Pioneering Fintech Company

On May 27, 2026, the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division dismissed a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a former C-suite executive against GKN’s client, a leading fintech company and digital asset securities platform. The Court adopted GKN’s argument that even the former employee’s statutory discrimination claims were bound by his Employment Agreement and its exclusive SDNY venue clause stripped the Court of subject-matter jurisdiction to hear the case. GKN partner Rich DeVita argued the case in partnership with GKN Head of Litigation Kari Parks and Associate Genesis Torres, who handled strategy and the briefs.
